Description
This AR15 upper receiver assembly comes ready to attach to any Mil-Spec lower receiver. It is built around a 16 inch, 4150 chrome moly barrel and has a black nitride finish. The upper receiver is a forged M4 flat top upper, allowing you to easily attach rifle scopes and red dot sights to the picatinny rail.
Outfitted with an AR-15 Keymod Rail that features strong attachment points for accessories resulting in accessories and optics having an excellent return to zero capability when detached and reattached. The rail also features a full-length picatinny top rail that sits flush with the upper receiver and has anti-rotation tabs to keep it locked in place. This upper assembly comes with a standard A2 flash hider that effectively suppresses muzzle flash and protects the 1/2×28 barrel threads if you are planning on adding a muzzle break in the future.

Get one of these uppers. The Hera key mod rail on this upper is sweet. It is very low profile and fits great in the hand. I don’t have very large hands but I can wrap my entire hand around the forearm with ease. I haven’t weighed it but it feels pretty light. I really like this upper.

I wanted a 15″ handguard for my build. Browsing around online, I wanted to avoid the big name companies and give someone else a try. Decided I liked the design CBC had for their rail, so I went with this. The barrel profile was also a plus. Went with my friends to try it out. Got my optic dialed in and am enjoying it. Has functioned flawlessly so far. Now, one thing my friends noticed right away, that I did not, was that the rail has some rough and sharp edges. And it sure does. It is most noticeable at the front, and around the quad rail sections at each end. The keymod cut outs are smooth on the outside, but have burrs on the inside. So, not a big problem, but seems like maybe they could use some bead blasting, time in a tumbler, or time with a file before being anodized. Besides that, the receiver, the barrel, and rail, are all fine products.

When unpacking, a cursory look at the upper appeared to look great,closer inspection found several finish blemishes,also the upper receiver and rail were misaligned. The shop I bought my lower at aligned it for me. Alignment with my Phase 5 lower was perfect. Shooting at the range was flawless,so overall I am fairly pleased. Good product.

When I received the package I was extremely pleased on how well the upper was double packed and cared for. After unpacking the upper I was even more pleased to see how well the upper was built. The entire upper appeared to have been made of good material and everything lined up flawlessly. The upper fit my Spikes lower very well with no issues. Not only does the upper look great, also weighs very light and not made of cheap thin material. After firing a few hundred rounds through it, I’ve had no issues and cant complain. Solid upper!!!! I give props to CBC Industries for producing a great upper. I’m already looking at 2 more uppers for rifles and possibly another lower for a pistol build.

Barrel is super scratched up from there assemble work. Muzzle is sharp and cut my hand like they made it and metal shavings all over it not a good job. But with a little cleaning its straight. Defiantly worth it for this price tho. These problems i dont care about but others might. And took 4+ weeks to arrive

I was told the lead time on my upper would be 10-14 days, but I got a shipping notification exactly one week after I ordered. That was a Thursday, it arrived Monday, I was thrilled! Ordered a nice set of back up irons, and decided to bore sight them today, only to find that my .22 caliber adapter didn’t fit the barrel. Then I popped a mag in, and the round wouldn’t chamber. Turns out I got a 7.62×39 barrel, instead of 5.56. Five minutes on the phone, and I had a return shipping label. They goofed, but were very gracious about it, and I give CBC high marks for customer service. Hopefully they get it right this time.

i ordered a 1/8 twist with a 16 inch colt htb barrel. it arrived in middle of heavy Styrofoam box inch thick.then put inside fitted heavy card board box.excellent protected and no movement possible.the upper was perfect no blemishes – scratches or thin spots.same for barrel . put it in a milled spikes lower spartan with built in trigger guard.locked up like a bank vault tight fit with no movement at all when pins put in.the rail was dead square with action. all screws and nuts were properly tight.ran brush threw it with barnes cleaner10 times.used 223 Israeli all brass 55 grain military ammo.was getting the nicest quarter sized groups at 50 yards with the open metal sights.. i am totaly blown away with the quality and accuracy.i am crabby old fart that almost never writes recommendations.to get 5 stars and a great big grin out of me says this upper was really something great. caught it onsale and then their 30% off holiday sale.even at full price it was a steal. great buy

On Sept. 27th I wrote a, shall we say, not-so-flattering review. Without going into the details I was immediately contacted by Chris Putnam of CBC who sincerely wanted to know why I was unhappy. After determining that CBC dropped the ball on my order, Chris manned up and admitted CBC was wrong and went WAY out of his way to make things right. This level of customer service is seldom seen in business today. I went from being disgruntled and dissatisfied to planning my next purchase from CBC. Oh, and by the way the upper I received is fantastic! Mates up perfectly with my Anderson lower and the fit and finish is flawless. Well, this is my second order with CBC. The first was a 300 Blackout upper, and that was here in the blink of an eye, but this 5.56 upper took a little longer to get. I guess I can chalk it up to the fact that all of us “DEPLORABLES” want new toys, so that delay is expected. The rail was out of stock for my order, but CBC went above and beyond and upgraded me to the Hera Keymod rail and I couldn’t be happier. The fit and finish is perfect, I have nothing at all to complain about here. These guys are pros and go beyond to make their customers happy. See you again soon for something new!

I ordered a upper on 9/5/16 not knowing anything about cbc other than they had great prices.The build took a little longer than expected,due to no fault of their own,but while i waited i went to a local gun show.Every one i talked to had nothing but positive things to say about the quality of cbc products. As previously mentioned the build took a little longer than expected but the representatives i spoke to when calling for updates were always courteous and eager to help.When i got my upper this past friday i saw i had been upgraded to hera rail.the fit finish and quality are great.i would not hesitate to order from cbc again.

Took a much longer time to assemble and ship, but CBC upgraded to the hera rail due to a delay on parts delivery – that’s putting the customer first. The upper was packaged in a bomb proof box / foam combination and arrived within 2 days of being shipped. The fit and finish of the upper is flawless and resulted in a very nice build comparable to $1500 plus ar’s for much less by sourcing individual parts based on individual quality. The barrel is fitted to the upper perfectly and the nitride coating is phenomenal. I will definitely use CBC again for a pistol build. Thanks!

I am not a “review guy “normally, but I felt I need to post to let other consumers know. I purchased this upper and couldn’t be happier. On the website it said to expect a 3 week delay due to production. I had the upper shipped and delivered within a week and a half. The upper is lightweight, thin, and very well made. Just as advertised. This is my second purchase with CBC and there will be more to come!
